In connection with the recruitment of 1951 post of primary teachers, 287 upper primary teachers (Social Science) and same number of post for upper primary teachers (Science) on contract basis under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the preliminary score obtained by the candidates based on their academic performance has been officially declared.
Speaking to newspersons this evening on the declaration of the preliminary score of the candidates, Principal Secretary of Education (Schools) Dr J Suresh Babu, who is also the vice Chairman of SSA Executive Committee, said claims and objections to the score achieved by the candidates would be entertained upto December 15 .
Any candidate, who wish to submit claim or objection for correction will have to apply in writing with the support of attested copies of the mark-sheet and certificates, informed the Principal Secretary adding that the application should be addressed to State Project Office, Babupara.
Confiding that after perusal of the claim/objection, efforts would be made to publish the final merit list before the Christmas festival (Dec 25), Dr Suresh said possibility of declaring the merit list on December 15 itself cannot be ruled out.
It is said that out of the total of 1951 post of primary teachers, 977 are for general category, while 604 post will be reserved for Scheduled Tribe and 36 for Scheduled Castes category.
Moreover, 244 post will be reserved for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (Meitei), 78 for OBC-Pangal and 9 for OBC-Others.
With regard to upper primary teachers (SS) totalling 287 seat, 146 are unreserved, 44 ST, 5 SC, 36 OBC-M, 11 OBC-P and 1 OBC-O .
In the Science group having same number as above, 146 seats are for general category, 44 ST, 5 SC, 36 OBC-M, 11 OBC-P and 1 OBC-O .
Dr Suresh further explained that based on the merit list of the candidates for the post of primary teachers and upper primary teachers there would be a state level selection.
Moreover, process for district level cadre system with regard to primary teachers and upper primary teachers under SSA has been completed and the said system will come into effect from the current recruitment exercise.
further informing that the individual score card may be ascertained through the website www.ditmanipur.gov.in., the Principal Secretary also confided that process is underway for regularisation of headmasters' post in various Government schools from among the in-charge headmasters who have completed 15 years of service.
Conveying that intake capacity to pursue BEd course in the State is very limited, he maintained that with the approval of the Ministry concerned action plan has been chalked out to allow BEd course through IGNOU.
With regard to presence of over 5000 untrained teachers under the Education Department (Schools), Dr Suresh said SCERT is preparing relevant syllabus for training of these teachers which is likely to be finalised within this year.
In another significant development, he declared that appointment orders have been issued today to primary teachers, whose DPC results were earlier put on hold.
On other education-related development, the Principal Secretary conceded that based on the directive of the Supreme Court official process has been initiated for construction of separate toilets for boys and girls students.
Asserting that the constructions would be completed within December 30, he added that under the total sanitation programme, PHED has been entrusted with the construction task for schools located in rural areas.
