Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test 2012 (SET 2012) for Lectureship October 2012 has been conducted by Bharathiar University, Coimbatore on 07th October, 2012. As per the University General Guidelines Bharathiar University will not give any permission for re-evaluation of papers and will not issue any mark sheet to qualified/non qualified candidates.

The SET 2012 answer key is hereby released for the paper - I (common for all subjects). In order to conduct the SET2012 exam in a systematic way, the booklets have been shuffled with different questions and answers. Hence, the candidates who have taken the SET 2012 exams are advised to verify their respective answer keys as follows for Paper-I. Candidates whose OMR sheets ending with the digits 1 or 6 are advised to verify the answer keys in ‘A’ Set of kets. Similarly OMR sheets ending with the digits 2 or 7 ‘B’Set , 3 or 8 candidates with ‘C’ Set, 4 or 9 candidates with ‘D’ Set and 5 or 0 candidates with ‘E’ set.

The delay in Publishing the result of SET 2012 by Bharathiar University should be reasonable . It is expected that the B-U will be careful in the matter of minimum eligibility criteria for qualified candidates. They know that there are many people take the legal rod against the un-informed new criteria of eligibility of NET after holding NET exam.KERALA High court also clearly expressed this kind is a violation of Article 14 of constitution.
If the B-U violate the criteria, it will be the next shock to the candidates.
If B-U followed the previously fixed minimum eligibility criteria,Tamil Nadu will be the first state in independently deciding the eligibility within the purview of constitution, also without violating the constitutional laws.

Yes, Believe... Bharathiar University in TamilNadu will publish the result SOON , WITHOUT infringing OR VIOLATING THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF CITIZENS(CANDIDATES) AS WELL AS THE Minimum Eligibility criteria firstly fixed by the UGC. It is legally possible to fix the aggregate at equal with the third paper's minimum eligibility criteria first fixed by the B_U, accordingly to each category.
In Dinadanthi paper (Coimbatore circulation) 5th January stated that University commission struggling with the fixing of Cut off marks so the result will be expected to publishing on this month end. for more details check the bharathiar university website press releases page. last 2011 set exam result also taking so much of time and the result was only 1200+ candidates was cleared the exam (tamil 600 and english 200+ and other subjects) so 58,234 members appeared in this set 2012.

Easy saying about 'Cheating' is because of the anger we have , in not getting the result soon. However, It should be seen as the administrative problem of the coordinating University. As we all know that minimium eligibility matter of UGC NET JUne Criteria for June 2012 is in Court. Surely the court will be favour on the thousands of candidates. so many of us appeared in that exam will get pass in UGC NET. So the SET-Tamil Nadu-2012, is also not announced about the aggregate sysytem at time of call for, for exam fees. So SET-TN-2012 will also need to follow the UGC' s same decision for their positive result to avoid unnecessary legal consequences from the awareness-full candidates.

The result of set-2012, of thamil nadu will be favourable to the candidates who crossed the minimum eligibility criteria in all 3 papers.
However the same rule and forthcoming court order (whatever) will not be applied for the UGC-NRT-DEC-2012 , because the UGC announces the ""STEPS in Selection of Eligible Candidates"'" through the news paper , its official website one-day prior to the examinations.

Will the evaluation of SET be genuine?
There is a clause in the main notification for SET 2012 that B.U has the final call in deciding the cut-offs. So there will be no constitutional violation if the cut-offs mentioned in the main notification are altered.

It is sorrowful to say that hope of many candidates of NET has broken. May be still there are chances if really upto five candidates jointly filed a writ in S.C.

If B-U will not follow the minimum eligibility criteria, surely it is violation of constitution. One thing you should know if you are not fair, transparency, equality in any matter , then you can not claim that like " I already informed some rules to candidate previously, so i have to be relieved from the law". Only if your previous statement is not violating the social justice, then your statement is accepted in court of law.So , first you should know , what is constitution and its purpose. Please know that constitution is a custodian of fundamental rights.
What is our duty is..
File a Mandamus Writ in Tamil Nadu H.Court or Send the registered post with your address (don't send anonymous) to declare the result with minimum eligibility criteria.
it is simple with 22 Rs charge for reg.post. How many of us send?. In my part I did. If we all do like this, then B-Us SET moderation committee has authority to decide for min,eligibility. otherwise it is sure that they will follow the UGC. Then only we think about case in high court. It is not good. Always prevention is better than cure.
so I humbly ask all to write a registered post to b-u set moderation committee to decide with minimum eligibility already informed. Kindly inform at this blog, after you send the post to b-U. Sure it is their responsibility to react for our justifiable communication.
Many people talking about the KERALA HCs Decision. Yes well-done. Even if you file a mandamum writ to Tamil nadu highcourt, surely they will inform the B-U to follow the firstly informed mini.eligibility criteria.

I used whitener in my answer sheet 1, will they reject my paper?I did my exam well but worried since i used whitener to correct a few answers in paper 1.
The problem is fixing of cut off marks still UGC didn't accept the B-U cut off marks that's why the delay.

so, as per your marks you got 66(100)in 1st Paper, 46(100)in 2nd Paper, 68(150) Total = 180(350) 51.42%
except 1st paper you got minimum marks in second and third papers if you got 192.5 means 55%, 210-60% 227.5-65% but, don't loose your confidence and wait for the results hopefully. Good luck friend

how to find the cut off marks?
i have scored 50.2% belonging to mbc(obc) category is there any possibility to clear the set exam friends..
total your 1st 2nd and 3rd paper marks and divide with 350 then multiply with hundred and you have to know your cut of marks if you got 192.5 (round off 194) 55%, 210 - 60%, 228 - 65% like this but, final cut off decided only by B.U. all the best......
Court Decision may be on Feb 5th (UGC-NET June 2012).

it is the minimum marks for each category announced by UGC NET exam 2012 June if the cut off marks increasing 15% means General-65%, OBC-60%, SC/ST/PC/VC-55%

Last set 2011 exam was published on 2012 finally 1,396 out of 41,164 candidates only cleared the exam. as many as 673 candidates cleared the Tamil paper, 213 cleared the English paper and 194 the management paper. Other passes were from bio-technology, economics, physical education, journalism and mass communication. No candidate from the chemical sciences, geography, Hindi, library and information sciences, mathematical sciences, and physical sciences, cleared the test. so,58,234 members appeared in this set 2012.
so, we can expect maximum 2000 members only clear this exam but, UGC role is very important in this results because B.U publishing the results after got the approval from the UGC.

This will comprise of following steps:
Step I:
Minimum marks to be obtained in SET for considering a candidate for the award of eligibility for lectureship:
The candidates are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:
Minimum Marks (%) to be obtained

OBC(Non-creamy layer) 35 (35%) 35 (35%) 67.5 (45 %) rounded off to 68
PWD/SC/ST 35 (35%) 35 (35%) 60 (40 %)
Step II:
Amongst those candidates who have cleared step I, a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates.
Step III:
( Top 15% candidates for NET ) likewise Top 07% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared SET qualified for eligibility for lectureship only.

if only 7% candidates only category and subject wise eligible means totally 1600 or 1700 members only clear this set so, the cut may be raised on more than 68% and above that's sure.
thats depend upon your other CS candidates if they are got a high cut off means that will be increase the competition so B.U only having the answer

very tough to say my friend bcoz in paper III you got only 66 the minimum criteria is 67.5 (round off 68marks) and B.U release the results depends upon the vacant position in the colleges.

Dear Friends SET exam is only a eligibility test it's not a competition exam for increase the cut off marks to 5,10,15 like this. The exam committee having all the rights to conducting the exam and declare the results. So they must to say exact passing criteria before conducting the exams but, they are changing the rules before publishing the results it's hurting all the candidates because, all are spending the time for U.G and P.G more than 5 years and also M.Phil will take more than 1 and half years. so in this stage every one crossing the age 26 or 27 so, the exam committee wrong decision very painful for all the students and scholars also every SET exam results will be taking more than 6months.

Assam State SET exam results was released on 06/02/2012 the exam was conducted on 09/09/2012.
They are followed the UGC's June 2012 criteria that is
Those candidates who figure among top 7% of all the candidates who appeared in SET,2012; this shall be calculated separately for each disciplinen and for each category (OBC,SC/ST/PH/VH).
Accordingly a cut‐off mark will be determined for each subject and each category for this purpose. In case of the tie (when several students have same identical aggregate marks) all the candidates appearing at the qualifying marks shall be included. Candidates who do not secure minimum required
score in each paper and are therefore not in the consideration Zone, will not be included in this list if they fall among top 7% within their subject and category
So, Tamil Nadu SET Moderation Committee also follow this same way means in every subject and community wise top 7% marks gained candidates only clear this exam. (Example: If 500 members was appeared in one major means 35 members only clear the exams). so finally the answer is TOP MOST MARKS HAVING CANDIDATES ONLY CLEAR THIS TAMIL NADU SET 2012.
If 500 members was appeared in one major means 35 members only clear the exams that means 35 member obc and 35 members in oc others and 35 in sc candidates.so totally 105 members can clear from each category . is it correct
First think is all appeared candidates must to cross the fixed minimum marks in all the three papers. If 3000 members appeared in one major in this scenario only 1500 candidates crossed the minimum fixed criteria then they was splitting by category wise after this partition general candidates 500, OBC candidates 500 SC/ST/PH/VH candidates 500 means top 7% candidates category wise will clear the exams in their respective major.

those who are get the minimum marks in all the paper...they going to final preperatio....which means 1000 candidate apeared in cs major but only 300 candidate get the minimum marks... then they catagory wise splitted like oc 100 obc100 and sc 100.. in each catagory select top 7% means 7 members have to be cleared the set...

This is very shocking for all SET Tamil Nadu 2012 candidates then why should they are not fixing the exact criteria before the exams. Also they are conducting exam yearly once and the results was publishing on next six months almost half years after very slow process. Kadavul dan kapathanum.......
suppose only few candidate have to get the minimum marks if it is 10 members.. what they do... in computer science major only few candidate cross the minimum marks..in this set exam most candidate belongs to cs major among the 52 thousand..
but olny few of them cross the minimum marks...is there is any chance to the cs major candidate have to be clear the set exam
remember my friend last SET 2011 exams no one was cleared in C.S so, I think that was not continuing in this SET 2012

but only few cs candidates cross the minimum marks in each paper...(most of the candidate belongs to cs major in this set exam)..
i get 60 in paper1
52 in paper 2
68 in paper3 belongs to obc catagory(cs major)...
aggregate 51.42%..i doing m.sc(cs) final year... if i cleared this set i will start my career at teaching else company side... i very eager for (set result)...lets see...

please everyone should check the revised answer key in bu websites...some questions in paper3 answers corrected so check ur answers with this key..because someone get exact minimum mark in paper 3 like me(68 marks obc catagory)... by gods grace i cross minimum marks in each paper... my aggregate is 52% computer science major...

Either 60 %(combined aggregate of all papers) OR Top 7 % in OBC category.

the set result released in Dina mani paper. the cut off was increased.Has shattered many peoples heart. I believe the cut off for Obc - 60% and Sc 50%. don't know about general. since its a eligibility test why such weightage given.

My subject is Library Science. My marks as per revised key I paper 62, II paper 72 and III paper 98. Total marks 232 out of 350. Aggregate percentage is 66.29% R.MUTHULAKSHMI.

Friends i also cleared in Library and Information Science with 67.4% (OBC).Malar
every major having different cut off marks because of the passing percentage example in my major History OBC cut off is maximum is 224 minimum 212 But, in Economics OBC minimum cut off marks is 176. because in history so many candidates was crossed 200 so, the cut off was different by subject to subject

My total score is 248/350(70%),According to the revised key i got extra marks in paper -3.

Eligibility marks fixed in each paper is obtained.
OBC category. But I have not achieved presently fixed cutoffs 188 marks.Hence
my result declared as NOT QUALIFIED.
What I can do next?
Existing assistant professor recruitment regulations blocking(indirectly) to get job by freshers.
* Nearly 50% marks will be given to experience.
* 10 (out of 34) marks will be given in interview. So, there is a chance to play money in these.
* Those who are doing part-time Ph.D will get preference over full-time Ph.D candidates because of experience. It's a worst thing in our country future research.
* There is no such way to give preference to talented freshers.
* Instead of these existing procedures, one more exam should be there or atleast they should give marks to PG/UG percentage(atleast they can find talented candidates partially).
yes there should be exam for assistant professor exam. Because of TET, most of the teachers selected are hard working and talented ... Please our honorable CM should consider this.. please madam conduct trb..
Then we have to write a complaint to our chief minister (CMCell). Go to that website and file a complaint regarding this (as soon as possible)..

I have written set exam 4 times. & NET Exam 8 Times. for all the exam third paper is written paper. every time I cleared first paper , second paper. but for third paper i Got 75 marks out of 200. but passing minimum is 90. because of 15 marks i missed set/net every time. making third paper as an objective type I took a resolution & i worked hard.
This time i cleared SET2012. So, hardwork never fails. as above person said TALENT IS REWARDED. Fix daily 1 hr for preparation.
DONT BLAME OTHERS FOR OUR MISTAKE. ALL THE BEST FOR NEXT SET/NET.
