Ladli Laxmi Yojana By NMC Nagpur
NAGPUR Municipal Corporation (NMC) will launch 'Ladli Laxmi Yojana' for girls belonging to financially backward classes. The Standing Committee will take decision on rules and conditions of the scheme in its meeting slated on November 12.
This is a dream scheme of Standing Committee Chairman Dayashankar Tiwari. The scheme was announced in the budget presented by Tiwari.
The scheme is an attempt to Save Girl Child. The civic body will insure every girl child below the age of I year. In case of unfortunate demise of a girl child before she aiiains the age of 7, her parents will gel insured money. The girl child will get Rs 1.24 lakh at the age of 21 years. The parents, wiili more than two kids will not gel benefit of this scheme. The civic body will pay Rs 2.258 per girl child per year as its contribution to the scheme. Tiwari has made provision of Rs I crore in the budget. Tiwari said, the scheme is prepared on the lines of similarly tilled scheme implemented in Madhya Pradesh by Chief Minister Shivraj Sinirli Chauhan.
