THE two-day general strike called by various central trade unions is likely to hit banking, insurance, pub lie transport services apart from affecting the normal functioning of Government offices. A host of employees unions and associations in various sectors including those fighting for welfare of unorganised sector, have declared their resolve to go ahead with the strike on February 20 and 21.Central trade unions have called strike to press for various demands including concrete measures to contain price rise, measures to generate employment, strict enforcement of labour laws, universal social security cover for organised.
