STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST (SET) FOR LECTURESHIP, OCTOBER 2012
TN-SET 2012 results of the Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (SET), which was held on October 7, 2012 are expected to be released in the first or second week of February. Bharathiar University, the nodal agency for the University Grants Commission (UGC) for holding SET, conducted the test in 10 main centres and 76 sub-centres in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. "The evaluation procedures have been completed and the results will be declared once the UGC moderation committee gives its approval," said BU Vice-Chancellor G James Pitchai. The committee's meeting is scheduled to be held in the first week of February.
The moderation committee includes nominees from the State Government, university Vice-Chancellor, who is also the committee chairman, and UGC representatives. University sources said the UGC has agreed to send two nominees from Mumbai.

There is no way to publish the supplementary results. All the cases filed against the SET 2012 and UGC norms are disposed.
The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court Bench has declared that all candidates, who obtained separate minimum marks as in the National Eligibility Test (NET) / State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted in 2012 are qualified for the post of Assistant Professors.

There may be a discussion with higher education secretary and UGC officials regarding the order of Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court Bench on SET 2012. We hope that the decision will be favorable as on Court Order or they may appeal in Supreme Court.
Is it possible to publish the supplementary results of SET 2012. How can the qualified candidates other than the court petitioners get the certificate from the Bharathiyar University?
Whether the Madurai High order for SET 2012 is for the 31 petitioners only or for all the candidates who secured minimum qualifying criteria.

Thank you Nethaji. At least I got a useful updated from you. I couldn't understand what verification they are doing for so long. Why did they ask for certificates from SSLC. For SET, all they need is PG certificate (if applicable, as final year students are also eligible to apply), and mark sheets (for verifying whether the minimum percentage of marks in PG was obtained or not). Even NET also expects the same from passed candidates. Why these Bharathiar university people asked certificates from SSLC to PG?

wait for this month may 27 because Madurai High court Judgement giving one month time to Bharathiar University and UGC.
UGC did the big mistake while announcing before the NET exam June 2012. They didn't say about the cut-off marks every scholars know the fact only 35, 35, 68 marks its enough for the higher education level? UGC also know the truth but they didn't clearly state that point in their UGC NET exam notification. This is giving boost for all the students so they are believed if we got 35 35 68 we are eligible for NET/SET. But suddenly UGC increase the cut-off marks to 60percent and above. Bharathiar University under the control of UGC so they also followed UGC guidelines finally UGC and BU played the game in students and scholars life.
Still bharathiar university nothng done about the madurai court order .What to do for the eligible criteria candidates ?? have to wait or any other solution for this.
Don't wait you file the writ petition against the UGC then only you can get the eligible certificate don't delay and consult with a good lawyer it will not take so much of money but don't delay
Is there any real value for these NET/SET certificates? In TN, number of Government colleges are very very less (while compared with Andhrapradesh, there every district has an average of 15 government colleges). So, openings in that are surely have lesser number. That too against reservation and other criterial like points earned by publishing books, teaching experience, interview (where demand for bribe could be possible) point etc. So, filtering criteria is more.
In Private institutions, they don't want to engage (except a few reputed institutions which are focusing on quality of education and dignity of their institutions) NET/SET people as they need to pay more. They are happily able to manage with fresher as they can offer a very lesser amount as consolidated payment. Universities are not insisting all those affiliated colleges to fill teaching positions by qualified candidates (as per UGC norms).
Under this circumstance, even if people clear this exam more in number, there would be no use at all. Moreover, like people with PG degrees, an another crowd (stagnated) would be gathered at this end.
Only use from these examinations is, UGC/SET nodal agencies are making crores of rupees from fee collected from students. Thats it!!!! Funny system! Funny standard(s)! Funny people (we!!)
Today Tamil Nadu Government announced College TRB for Government Arts and Science Colleges but still Bharathiar University did not issue the SET Certificate to the eligible candidates then what is the use for that certificate I didn't have any words to say about this............... Great work UGC continue this forever.

first you file the case in the court and get the order as soon as possible because in Madurai High court judgement clearly shows only the 38 petitioners will receive the certificates from UGC NET/SET.
Hall ticket doesn't matter still that was available in the Bharathiar Set website
I Saw the TRB adverdisement which is published on 28-5-13, i belong to computer science deparment, i want to know how many people are eligible to attend TRB, because only 100 vacancies available. I have 3 years experience with set. Is there is any chance to select in TRB. if anyone know that reply me.

So, you have five years of experience (every one year 2 marks maximum marks 15) 5 X 2 = 10 marks and you are having M.Phil with Net it is gives you 6 marks if you are finished Ph.D means TRB gives 9 marks interview marks is 10 so you already having 16 marks TRB total marks is 30 so attend your interview outstandingly. Don't worry lots of Aided colleges are announcing vacant for their concern departments everyday check local news papers every day BBA is available in so many colleges of Tamil Nadu also you are having five year experience it will help you surely in aided college interviews all the best Mohamed

The problems is Last SET 2012 so many was passed in computer science apart from this aided college lecturers also trying for this TRB so you have 6 experience marks with set is 6 marks totally you have 12 marks out of 30 marks interview marks are 10 so, attend your interview well and all the best

And also the TRB says according to GO 2009 MPhil completed in distance/correspondance not eligible. Read the TRB call for carefully.
If you are a phd holder the period of study will not be considered for the experience read the TRB advertisement carefully

Total TRB marks is 30 if you are having more than 7 years teaching experience you get 15 marks (each year 2 marks)If you have Ph.D means 9 marks. M.Phil with SET / NET 6 marks. Interview marks are 10
interview questions are structured by the expert committee appointed by the Higher Education Department. The questions are depended upon your major only also the questions consist of mental ability and if you get 4 marks poor 6 marks fair 8 marks good 10 marks subject expert

Shortcut to clear TRB assistant professor test is PhD.Just spend some amount and get (BUY) one PhD,and u will become Asst Prof through TRB. NO USE in clearing NET/SET.Intelligence is not rewarded.

still Bharathiar University did not issue the eligibility certificate to the eligible candidates Government College TRB also already announced application forms are issuing on after one week. I am continuously calling to B.U for past 1month every time they are saying only one answer after two weeks you will receive the certificate.
exams are conducting every two years or one year after the exam results will take maximum 5 to six months god only know eligibility certificate issuing time taking how much of time. So what is the use for these kind of eligibility exams?
BU must consider this matter seriously,as this is the life of more than 5000 youngsters.They must immediately give certificates so that SET cleared candidates apply for TRB.otherwise we have to go to court.

Bharathiar University nothing they can do without the guidance of UGC bcoz University Grants Commission only the sole authority for this process so try to get the order copy from Madurai High Court. Already NET June 2012 victims are successfully got the justice from near to 5 High Courts from all over the India but still they are not received the eligibility certificate.
The true fact is if UGC convinced to issue the eligibility certificate means nearly 90,000 NET June 2012 peoples are waiting in outside. Also more than 10,000 SET 2012 peoples are waiting for this certificate. UGC done the big mistake everyone was understood that but, think how is it possible to issue the certificate to everyone.
single efforts are not enough on this stage almost 4000 eligibility candidates received their certificates. Join all of you in one umbrella and approach the court in a strong way

If any body see the corrigendum publish by the TRB regarding the Experience certificate. Please go through the 17th page of Thinathani on 19/06/2013. That is entirely against the Young people those qualified SET/ NET recently. TRB doing some favour to the officials relative are some body.

My friend says that "years after obtaining PhD/SET alone will be counted for teaching experience".College teaching experience before PhD/SET will not be taken for award of marks as per TRB's latest notification.Is this correct?if anyone knows pl clarify
Yes your friend's statement is correct see the dinathanthi 19th June 2013 news paper it was clearly mentioned that but don't worry all the guest lecturers associations giving petitions to the hon'ble education minister of Tamil Nadu he also accepted may be another two or three days it will be cancelled.

Anybody know the decision of Bharathiar University on the court order regarding SET 2012.
TRB has to change the decision about the experience certificate for Asst Prof for colleges. Because some persons have worked under the UGC norms of M.Phil before 1993 & M.Phil. TRB should consider the experiences for Asst Prof for colleges as per the UGC norms for Asst Prof in various periods.
TRB is correct in its stand on experience certificate.Only when a candidate acquires the essential qualification,he becomes eligible for becoming an AP whether it is in govt or self financing colleges.
TRB is Body of Higher Education Department. TRB should insist First, the Govt of self financing colleges should appoint the qualified persons ie. Ph.D /PG with SET/M.Phil(Regular) with SET. This should be made earlier the announcement of the current recruitment. This is illegal to insist TRB immediate recruitment.
You are wrong.TRB and HR EDUCATION DEPT are separate govt bodies.One is independent of other.

Why Bharathiar University is not issuing SET 2012 certificate based on the Madras High Court Order?
still court case is pending.UGC has apporoached supreme court on this issue.Hence it may take time to get the final decision.If the supreme court order favours UGC NET June 2012 candidates,chances are still there for UGC to file review petition in supreme court.Legal procedures will take thrie own time.It may take years togethers.We cant predict the final verdict now itself.We have to wait and see.

The court has asked UGC to make a statement that they would do the needful and the court also said that UGC may apply whatever criteria they want to through notification , but for exams other than June 2012.
The court has conveyed the message to UGC quite clearly that there SLP actually doesn't stand and when the exam is just an eligibility exam then , Why should UGC have Ego in doing the needful .
The court conveyed it to UGC that its better they make a statement n withdraw .
Well, if this action is not taken by UGC then according to me the court will be forced to dismiss the SLP. I don't think even UGC wants this to happen. So it's better they withdraw and then HON'BLE BOMBAY HC NAGPUR BENCH DECISION IS UPHELD !!!!
The court wants to settle the dispute amicably and doesn't wanna pass any contrary order.
