THE result of HSSC examinations may be delayed this year as most of the moderators and examiners have not started valuation work yet and are wholeheartedly participating in the massive boycott for iheir pending demands.
It may be recalled that, the Vidarbha Junior College Teachers' Association (VJUCTA) had earlier announced boycott on complete board examination work including practical and oral exams. But as the Chief Minister and Education Minister appealed to the union not to launch agitation seeing the future of Std XII students they assured to consider the demands with full sympathy within a fortnight. But as there is no sign of positive talk from the Government. The office bearers of the union have finally decided to launch state wide agitation boycotting the valuation work completely. The moderators Of Marathi, Hindi and English subjects had attended the board meeting and accepted lots under protest. But the examiners are not ready to accept the answer papers from the principals and lakhs of papers are remaining unchecked with the principals in many Junior Colleges in the state. On February 27. in all 44 moderators of Physics, 54 of political Science and some of Commerce attended the board meeting at Nagpur but refused to accept the work and returned empty handed. Now. the examiners need model answer sheet to assess the papers and it is not with them.
Prof Ashok Pofli. District President of VJUCT. Vasant Manusmare. Tehsil Chief Anil Tarole, Secretary. Prof Buran and others visited various colleges in the district and took stock of the situation. "There is cent per cent boycott on valuation work in the district including Nagpur division. If Government fails to respond posiliveh to the demands, we \ull not assess the answer sheet and the Government will be responsible for the delay in result. Our demands are legitimate which include implementation of three tire payscale from 19%. limit the section strength of Std XI upto 40. reimbursement of payment of 42 days strike, revision of remuneration of CHB and pan lime teachers as per sixth pay commission, extension of the retirement age upto 60. separate status to Junior college administration, delelion of the word 'permanent' from newly sanctioned non-grant sections and grants for them, benefit of selection grade to all me teachers who complete 24 years of their service, separate papers of science stream as before, give additional increment to MEd, MPhil. PhD holder teachers and other twenty demands," added Prof Ashok Pofli.
