HSC Physics Paper is From Textbook - Board Says...
THE recent news of Physics paper of HSC 2013 Exam being tough or out of syllabus is far from fact. The detailed analysis of the question paper has revealed that the entire question paper was prepared from a single prescribed textbook published by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Almost all the questions including numericals, derivations and diagrams were either from exercises given at the end of each chapter or from the contents of the chapter. The paper was the similar to that of the previous year pattern. The revision of syllabus and this being the first exam of its nature is being misused by coaching class for their vested interests, alleged teachers.
A teacher pointed out that the aspects have emerged out include the revision of syllabus to bring it in sync with the NCFRT based other boards has resulted in reduction of syllabus of Physics and increase in Mathematics and Chemistry syllabus.
"This is the first year when the board exam marks are going to get counted with 40 to 60% weightage for admission into various engineering colleges including the prestigious IITs. hence adequate anention for preparation from the textbooks for ihc board exams was important. However, the coaching classes continued their previous pattern of making students prepared for the entrance exams till one month prior to the board exam. Thereafter they were given limited study material in the form of short notes. 21 important question and advised to see few previous year papers as part of the preparation of the board examination.
The students told that going for re-examination or allotting grace marks at the cost of hard working and sincere students who have faired well in this paper, would not be fair deal. They should not be punished for none of their mistake and should not be asked to undergo rigours all over again.
