KAVIKULGURU KALIDAS SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY
Maharashtra State had no Sanskrit University before 1997. The former Prime Minister of India, Hon'ble Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao, who is a great scholar of Sanskrit, always insisted that Maharashtra has a great tradition of Sanskrit learning hence it should have an independent University.
Eligibility criteria for admission to Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University For Year 2013 –
A graduate from any university in the faculty of Arts, Science &
Commerce, who has passed Common Entrance Test (CET) of Government
Centralized Admission Process for the year 2012-13 and has passed
Maharashtra State Secondary / Higher secondary level (S.S.C) examination
with Sanskrit as one of the subject or above level exam. with Sanskrit
as one of the subject are eligible for admission to Kavi Kulguru Kalidas
Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya’s two colleges in Nagpur and other colleges at
Paratwada, Ramtek, Akola, Darapur (Total intake of 600 seats). There
are 16 subjects available as Teaching Method to choose. The candidates
have the choice of any one medium for writing at University examination
out of four mediums viz. Marathi, Hindi, English, Sanskrit.
In this university 98% seats are reserved for Candidates from
Maharashtra and 2% seats are reserved for Outside Maharashtra University
candidates. Admission will be given as per the rules formed by the
Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University. The vacant seats will be
filled in from the Maharashtra and Outside Maharashtra candidates
available.

B.Ed. (SANSKRIT) SHIKSHA-SHASTRI (Ordinance No. 38 OF 2002) (Post Graduate Degree in Bachelor of Education)
At present there is an urgent need of trained Sanskrit Teachers who can impart knowledge in scientific ways. There are centres in India which train people in Sanskrit Teaching. In the present course, teaching methodology has been carefully introduced. Theories of Education, Educational Psychology, History of Indian Education, Sanskrit Teaching, Teaching Shastras and Modern subjects and Teaching School Management, Health, Environment and Population are main topics of this course. This course aims at modelling ideal Sanskrit Teachers who can scholarly and skilfully impart the Sanskrit knowledge.
Eligibility -Passed the final degree examinations of any statutory university
