Eligibility for admission
1.1
Admission for the Regular B.Ed. Course run in Government,
Non-government Aided, Unaided, Permanently Unaided and Non Government
Aided, Unaided and Permanently Minority Colleges of Education in
Maharashtra will be given through the Centralized Admission Process
(CAP) by conducting the Common Entrance Test (CET) according to Merit as
follows:
a) Government and Non Government Aided Colleges of Education- 100% Seats
b) Non-Government un-aided / permanently unaided colleges participating in the government
centralized admission process - 100% seats.
c) 1. Non-government aided minority colleges - 50% seats
2. Non-government unaided / permanently unaided minority colleges participating in
government centralized admission process - 50% seats
d)
The non-government unaided / permanently unaided Institutions
participated in Centralized Admission Process should fill their
management quota of 20% as per instructions contained in G.R. Dated
16.02.2004 either from the eligible candidates qualifying in CET 2012-13
participated in the Centralized Admission Process (Govt. CAP) or from
Maharashtra Vinaanudan Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya Sanstha Chalak Association
(Asso. CAP) as per merit and not from both the CAPs together (jointly.)
The non-government unaided / permanently unaided colleges of education who have
filled
in seats of management quota from Centralized Admission Process will
have to get the admission letter from their Login ID. It is necessary to
get the list of admitted candidates through Management Quota from the
Centralized Admission Process certified from the Centralized Admission
Committee. If the Non-government unaided / permanently unaided
institutions participating in the Centralized Admission Process who have
filled in their management quota from Maharashtra Vinaanudan Adhyapak
Mahavidyalaya Sanstha Chalak Association (Asso. CAP), it is necessary
for them to get the list of admitted candidates certified from the
Maharashtra Vinaanudan Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya Sanstha Chalak Association
and approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti.
Management Quota seats are to be filled in subjectwise and categorywise as per rules prescribed in B.Ed. admission broucher.
If
the institution does not get sufficient seats for management quota or
if the institution does not wish to fill in the management quota seats;
such seats can be surrender to Centralized Admission Process.
e)
The Aided Minority Institutions should fill their minority quota of 50%
as per instructions contained in G.R. Dated 16.02.2004 from the
eligible minority candidates qualifying in CET 2012-13 participating in
the Centralized Admission Process (Govt. CAP). It is necessary that the
concerned minority colleges should give admission letters to the
admitted candidates through their Login ID. It will be obligatory to get
the list of candidates admitted through minority quota certified
through Centralized Admission Process certified from the Centralized
Admission Committee.
If
the minority institution does not get sufficient seats for minority
quota or if the minority institution does not wish to fill in the
minority quota seats; such seats can be surrendered to the Centralized
Admission Process.
f) The
non-government unaided / permanently unaided minority Institutions
participating in the Centralized Admission Process can fill in their
minority quota from the Centralized Admission Process (Govt. CAP) or
from Maharashtra Vinaanudan Adhyapak Mahavidyalaya Sanstha Chalak
Association (Asso. CAP) and not from both the CAPs jointly. It will be
necessary for those unaided/ permanently unaided minority colleges of
education who have filled in seats of minority quota from the
Centralized Admission Process (Govt.CAP) will have to give admission
letters from their Login ID. Besides it will be necessary for them to
get the list of admitted candidates certified from the Centralized
Admission Committee. If nongovernment unaided or permanently unaided
minority colleges of education have filled in their minority quota
through the Maharashtra Vinaanudan Adhyapak Mahavidyalay Sansthachalak
Association, then they will have to get the list of admitted candidates
certified from the association as well as get it approved from Pravesh
Niyantran Samiti.
If
the minority institution does not get sufficient seats for the minority
quota or if the minority institution does not wish to fill in the
minority quota seats ; such seats can be surrendered to the Centralized
Admission Process.
1.2 Admission
to the Non-Government unaided and permanently unaided colleges of
Education who arethe members of Maharashtra Vinaanudan Adhyapak
Mahavidyalay Sansthachalak Association will be compulsorily through
Single Window System on the basis of the Common Entrance Test (CET)
conducted for the respective year by Association. In this regard,Hon.
Supreme Court’s/ Hon. High Court’s/and the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti’s
decisions and rules published from time to time by the Government will
be mandatory. It is obligatory for the Colleges of Education to get the
list of admitted
candidates certified
from the Maharashtra Vinaanudan Adhyapak Mahavidyalay Sansthachalak
Association as well as get it approved from Pravesh Niyantran Samiti.
1.3 a)
1. Candidates who have completed their Graduation/ Post Graduation from
the recognized Non-Agriculture University/ Agriculture
University/Open University/Deemed University in Arts/Science/Commerce/
Home Science/ Agriculture Science/ Computer/
InformationTechnology/Engineering/ B. S. W. faculty in the sujects
thaught at School/ Higher secondary level and the candidates belonging
to Open, Category who have secured minimum 50% marks (49.5% and above
will be eligible to fill up CET application form) and those candidates
belonging to Backward Class category (SC, ST, VJ-A, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D,
OBC, SBC) who have secured minimum 45% marks (44.5% and above will be
eligible to fill up CET application form) and candidates from Out side
Maharashtra Universities belonging to all categories who have secured
minimum 50% marks (49.5% and above will be eligible to fill up CET
application form) at Graduate or Post Graduate degree will be eligible
to appear for CET examination being conducted for B. Ed. Admission.
The following graduate candidates will not be eligible for B.Ed. admission :
1. The candidates having two years degree course.
2. Graduate degree holders having equivalence status given vide Higher and Technical
Education
G.R.No. SMK 1099/134/Mashi-4, dated 14.06.1999, Government
supplimentry letter No. SMK 1099/134/Mashi-1 dated 05.04.2003 and
G.R.No. SMK 2007/ (26/07)/Mashi-6,dated 28.02.2007.
3. Graduates from other disciplines excepting those mentioned in Rule No.1.3 (a).
2. The minimum qualifying marks in CET for Open category candidates should be 18 marks out
50;for B. C. categories candidates 15 marks and for the candidates from Out of Maharashtra
Universities belonging to all categories should be 18 marks for being eligible for admission to
B.Ed. Course.
b) Students desirous of seeking admission to English Medium Colleges of Education will have to
appear
for English Language Content Test (ELCT) along with CET. It is
essential for the candidates to secure minimum 18 marks (36%) out of
50.
c) The condition mentioned in 1.3
a) (1) of minimum percentage of marks at Degree/ Post graduation will
not be applicable to those candidates who are already in service as a
Full time Teachers and those who have continuously served for minimum
two years and have got approval as trained teacher or Untrained teacher
from department of school education. The Experience certificate of such
candidates must be countersigned by the Education Officer/Block
Education Officer. For teachers working in Central/CBSC Schools the
experience certificate is required to be countersigned by the competent
authority. The countersigned experience certificate, Appointment order
given by the Sanstha and reliving letter for B.Ed. course by the Sanstha
is required to be attached. However, the condition of minimum score as
per rule 1 .3 a (2) in CET is applicable to such candidates. The
Honoraray, On Honorarium, Part Time, Without Pay and CHB Teachers’
services will not be considered eligible for relaxation of marks at
degree level.
d)
The candidates who have appeared for Degree Examination held in
March/April 2012 are eligible to appear for the CET. The Candidates
whose results are declared before the schedule of filling of Option
Form and who are qualified as per Rule 1.3 (a) and for English Medium
1.3 (a), (b) and those who will fill in the Option Form will be
included in the Merit List. The results of Graduation of those
candidates are declared while the process of admission is on, can fill
up the Option Form after declaration of their results. The names of the
such candidates will be included in the further admission Process. Such
candidate can not claim his/her seat according to merit in the admission
process conducted before his/her filling up the Option Form.
1.4
Candidates who have completed their degree from the universities
which give Grades instead of marks will have to attach a certificate of
equivalent Marks shown against the grades from the competent authority
of the University/Department. Candidates will have to attach the
decoding list where the Codes are given to the subjects.
1.5
The merit and minimum eligibility criteria will be decided by
considering the total percentage of marks secured by the candidate at
the degree level.(considering the additional marks given by the
university) (e.g. Some universities award degrees by considering the
marks of three years, while some award degrees on the basis of
consolidating Two years’ marks and some award degrees on the basis of
the marks obtained only in the Third Year.) The calculation of marks at
degree level will be done according to the pattern of awarding
grade/class adopted by the University.
1.6 1. The candidate cannot select the Compulsory subject of Graduation as the First Method.
The
subject should have studied the subject to be offered as the First
Method as Optional/Special/ Subsidiary subject. The candidate must
have studied total Six papers of the subject during the First, Second
and Third year of Degree Course. The subject to be selected as a method
must be one of the subjects studied at Secondary I Higher
Secondary School Level. The candidate will be eligible to be admitted in
the college where facility of teaching concerned subject is available.
2. The candidates preferring colleges in the jurisdiction of Nagpur University as per
The Statutes of the university, candidate must have studied the subject to be
offered as special method at graduation level. Moreover, the second subject of the
special method should also have been studied at graduation level like the First
Method Subject. Moreover, the candidate must have studied English as one of the
subjects at least for one year during the degree course. The candidate desirous of
seeking admission in the colleges of education falling in the jurisdiction of Nagpur
University, must be eligible for admission as per the norms of the Nagpur
University. The candidates desirous of seeking admission in Nagpur University must
have studied any two of the following subjects as Optional Subjects at the degree level
for selecting the methods and provided the colleges have the facility of teaching the
concerned subjects at the time of filling the option form.: 1. Marathi, 2. English, 3.
Hindi, 4. Sanskrit, 5. Pali, 6. Urdu, 7. History, 8. Geography, 9. Civics, 10. Economics,
11. Commerce, 12. Chemistry, 13. Physics, 14. Biology, 15. Mathematics, 16. Home
Science, 17. Music.
3. In some of the universities in Maharashtra, a candidate can secure degree by offering
in all five papers of a subject at the First, Second and Third year of graduation taken
together. Candidates of such universities who have secured a degree by offering five
papers as Optional, Special or Subsidiary subjects can offer that subject as the First
Method and such candidates can be consider eligible for admission to B. Ed. Course.
4. In Nagpur and Amravati University, a candidate has to offer five subjects in the first
year of degree course out of them two are compulsory and three are optional. Those
subjects are continued in the Second and Third year of the course. Therefore, a
candidate can secure a degree after studying only three papers of the
Optional/Special/Subsidiary subject. Hence, a candidate who has graduated from
Nagpur/ Amravati or any other University from Maharashtra having three papers of the
respective subject at Optional or Subsidiary level, then the candidate can select that
subject as first teaching method and will be held eligible for admission to the B. Ed.
Course.
5. If a candidates desires and is eligible for selecting two or more teaching methods, then
he/she should mention in the application form as per the instructions given. However, a
candidate cannot offer the compulsory subject as a Method Subject. The subject/s to be
offered for methodology must have been studied as Optional,Special or Subsidiary
level. Compulsory subject cannot be offered as a Method of Teaching.
6.
a) If a candidate has secured additional degree in an additional
subject, then the candidate can offer that subject as a Method as per
above Rule 1.6(5). However, the marks scored at thefirst degree by the
candidate shall only be considered while calculating the merit of the
candidate..
b) As per the
ordinance of Nagpur University, the candidate who has obtained a degree
in anadditional subject, he/she cannot offer that subject as the First
Method.
7. Information regarding the
In-take Capacity, Medium, Teaching Methods, Tuition Fee and other
information of the Colleges of Education participating in Centralized
Admission Process will be made available on the Web-Site and at ALC at
the time of filling in the Option (Preference) Form.
1.7.
a) In case of Graduates from Commerce, Social Sciences, Agricultural
Science, Computer, Information Technology, Engineering, and BSW faculty,
the candidate should mention his/her discipline in the Application form
instead of the Teaching Method. The respective teaching methods are not
available in all the Colleges of Education. However, according to 5.1
(c), (d), (e), seats are reserved for the respective subjects/
discipline in all the Colleges of Education. The Candidates admitted as
per merit and the preference in any such college shall have no right to
claim his/her subject as a Method of Teaching. If a candidate wishes to
opt for his graduation subject as a Teaching Method then he/she should
give preference to those colleges having the concerned Method in the
Option Form .
b) The
candidate admitted as per the clause 1.7 (a) through Centralized
Admission Process,his method will be decided by Principal of the
college where the candidate has secured admission based on the related
subject offered at Graduation /Post Graduation by the candidate. For
example in case of Information Technology, Agriculture and Computer
Science subjects, the candidate will have to opt for Science,
Mathematics as Methods of Teaching.
c)
The Merit list will be prepared for each college according to
availability of seats, as per category, subject, medium and quota as
specified below:
1. For the University through which the First degree is obtained : 70 %
2. For the Graduates of Other Universities from Maharashtra : 28 %
3. Graduate of Universities Outside the State of Maharashtra : 2 %
4. This Distribution of quota will continue till the Third Round of the admission
5. If the seats are vacant even after the Third Round, the vacancies will filled through
Concerned Colleges of Education by admitting Subject-wise and Category wise
candidates from the State level Merit List according to merit. The Time Table for this
will be displayed separately as per the need on the web-site and in the newspapers.
Note: Since the admissions are done through Centralised Admission Procedure (CAP), these
rules and regulations will be applicable to all the Universities in Maharashtra.
