You make your acting debut with Madras Cafe. What was the experience like?
It was a very different experience. Unlike in the newsroom, where we have 50-odd people on the set, Madras Cafe sets had close to 200, 300 people.
On television we shoot the story and come back to edit it, but in a film it's more elaborate.
The flick, which is set to release across India on August 23, also covers intelligence agencies and Lankan rebel group LTTE.
Gandhi said that the film took a historical incidence and twisted it in such a way that it portrays a wrong impression on what was meant on the Tamil Elam.
Pro-Tamil outfits and various other political parties in the province also objected to the release of actor John Abraham’s movie, after the movie was shown to select Tamil activists on Sunday.
