MBA admissions State Govt to hold own CET MAH MBA CET On 15 March 2014
AFTER lasting a bit failure in Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). Mumbai has bounced back and decided to conduct its own Common Entrance Test. DTE has announced dates for MAH CET 2014 for admission to first year MBA/MMS for 2014-2015' in Maharashtra.
A notification released by DTE stales thai candidates seeking admission to AICTE approved first year of two years full time post graduate degree courses in MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM for the year 2014-15 are hereby informed thai the on-line Common Entrance Test (MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014) will be conducted on Saturday, March 15. 2014 and Sunday. March 16. 2014.
The detailed notification regard ing availability of information brochure, filling up online CET Application form, eligibility criteria etc will be published on the DTE website in the month of January 2014.
According to the notification released by DTE, 85% seats in the government-run and aided MBA/MMS institutes in the State and 65 rA seats at private unaided and minority institutes will be filled throueh the MAH-MBA/MMS-CET' from 2014. Another 15% seats will be filled through the all India quota. Students who appear in the CMAT will now be allotted seats at institutes in the State through the all India quota.
Last year, admissions to the MBA institutes in the Maharashtra were carried out on the basis of Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). CMAT was conducted thrice but yield little success.
DTE has not yet announced MAH CET 2014 exam pattern. In last MAH CET, exam was held in a paper-pencil-based format. The duration was 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. There were 200 questions asked from 5 different areas -Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability. Data Interpretation/Data Sufficiency and Reasoning. MAHCET exam did not contain any negative marking.
The dates of result of MAH CET 2014 are not announced yet but expected to be out in April 2014 as per last MAH CET results.
