CBSE ISSGC Schools have New Games in 2014
THE Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has included new games for its 2014-15 annual spoils competition. According to CBSE. this will add to sportive mood in its schools. The new games include Wushu. a Chinese martial an, is the latest entrant along with archery, gymnastics and rifle shooting. With the addition of new games. CBSE has doubled the annual fees being paid by schools. The CBSE Inter School Sports and Games Competitions (CBSE-ISSGC) is an important event wherein all CBSE schools participate. The circular issued recently says, "CBSE stands out as the only educational hoard which organises competitions in different disciplines that contribute to make their students a filter and a better human being," Presently, the competition held in 20 disciplines in which over 1.5 lakh students participate each year. The circular further makes it clear "For bringing in further transparency into the prevailing sporting system, the Board has already developed the physical education; sports & games portal on its website and includes the complete information on CBSE-ISSGC.
The Board has yet not prepared the rules and regulations but according to Board official everything related to these new games would soon be on the CBSE website. The CBSE- ISS-GC is board's self-financed educational activity and organised out of annual sports, fee contribution received from its independent category of schools. The board will provide competition organising schools with equipment, medals, certificates, scholarship under Chacha Nehru Sports Award.
