Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams Result Details | Toppers of KCPE 2013
Kimutai Brian of Stewards Light School in Nandi County and Otieno Akoth Daphne of Golden Elite Junior School in Kisumu County are the top candidates of the 2013 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams.
Brian and Daphne scored 444 marks out of 500 marks.
The two were closely followed by four candidates who scored 442 marks each.
Mpekethu Uniter Riziki of Kathigiri B School in Meru County, Boera Felix Robert of Vitale HGM in Makueni, Koskey Jonathan Kipkurui of St Mary’s Ruaraka in Nairobi County and Nambiro Emmanuel Mulayi of Thorn Tree School in Kajiado County all came in at number three.
At number seven was Omondi Jully Lydia Awour of M M Shah in Kisumu County and Angolio Yujin Mosongo who tied at 441 marks.
Chepkorir Dorcas Cheruiyot of Kericho Primary in Kericho County and Masila Timothy Ian Kindiu of Newlight Komarock in Nairobi County, Elizabeth Atieno Onyango of Tender Care in Nairobi County and Ndete Velma Imali of Thorn Tree School in Kajiado came in at number nine with 440 marks.
According to Education Cabinet Secretary Prof Kaimenyi, girls outnumbered the boys in the 2013 KCPE exams considering there were seven girls and five boys in the top 10 positions.
“There were more female candidates (58.33percent) in the top 10 positions compared to male candidates (41.67percent),” he said.
However he noted that the 2013 results did not differ a lot compared to the 2012 exams.
When he read out the results on Tuesday morning, Kaimenyi also explained that girls who have been for many years had low ratio compared to boys had drastically improved.
He said out of the 47 counties in Kenya, 18 counties had more girls than boys who sat for the KCPE exams.
