Nursing PNS 100 Seats May Remain Vacant

Nursing PNS 100 Seats May Remain Vacant

THE adamant attitude of Pravesh Niyantran Samiti (PNS) to not to let students take admission into Nursing institutions on the basis of their marks in Class XII, may lead over I ,(KK) seats of the course remaining vacant in the State this year.
The decision of Pravesh Niyantran Samiti (Admission Regulatory Committee) (PNS) asking medical institutions to admit students from one CET only had brought students in trouble. Not only that various branches too were facing problems. Due to implementation of this rule, it was feared that over 2.000 seats of Under Graduate Nursing might remain vacant.
The Hitavada published the news and the institutions got the permission. With PNS allowing colleges to admit students, who had cleared NEET around 1100 seats were filled. Still, over 1000 scats remained vacant. Then Association of Nursing colleges requested Government to admit students on the basis of their score in Physics, Chemistry and Biology of Class XII. Government has sent a letter to PNS to allow colleges to do the admissions on the basis of Class XII score. The Association of Managements of Privade unaided colleges too seni such type of leuer. Nursing Council on its website displayed the last date of admission to nursing courses as December 15. 2013.
Though Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) supported the demand of Nursing colleges, it has made it clear that as far as rules are concerned it would go with PNS.
As far as the admission to B.Sc Nursing is concerned, there are four colleges run bv Maharashtra Government. at Nagpur.
Aurangabad. Pune and Mumbai. They have 200 seats of B.Sc Nursing. Most of the students had appeared in NEET. There are 56 private colleges those arc running B.Sc Nursing course with the intake of 2290. The admissions lo private institutions arc done by Asso-CET. Unfortunately less number of students, those appeared in Asso-CET went for B. Sc Nursing, because of which only around 150 scats in B.Sc Nursing in private institutions were filled. There were about 2100 seats in B.Sc Nursing in private institutions remained vacant. Fortunately the last date of admitting students had been extended to October 31. Then the colleges were allowed to do admissions through NEET too.
If PNS allows colleges to do it through Class XII score, all seals would be filled. Now. the ball is in the court of PNS who is not allowing to admit student.
