The date-sheet for the GATE 2014 exam had released long back, but with 22 optional subjects inevitably dates coincide and it may become confusing as to when your exam is. The convenors of GATE have recently released a new method of organization of exam dates; based on registration numbers. Using registration numbers any candidate can check which date and which time slot his/her exam is. 

• Session 01: February 2, 2014 Forenoon
• Session 02: February 2, 2014 Afternoon
• Session 03: February 15, 2014 Forenoon
• Session 04: February 15, 2014 Afternoon
• Session 05: February 16, 2014 Forenoon
• Session 06: February 16, 2014 Afternoon
• Session 07: March 1, 2014 Afternoon
• Session 08: March 2, 2014 Forenoon
• Session 09: March 8, 2014 Afternoon

The Forenoon (FN) Session is from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and the Afternoon (AN) Session is from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted for admission to post graduate courses in Technology and Science. Several Public Sector Units (PSUs) also consider GATE scores during recruitment. GATE 2014 is being organized by IIT Kharagpur.
