Engineering Admission 2014 New Rules By DTE | BE Centralized DTE Admission Process New Updates, Application process.
Recently the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) effected some changes in rule no 6 for admission in engineering. According to this rule, the aspiring students of engineering must score 50 per cent in their HSSC examination. The students falling under reservation quota must score 45 per cent to secure admission in the engineering courses.
The new rule will give relief to those aspiring engineering students who were denied admission due to scoring less marks in chemistry. According to the sources, the students taking subjects like maths, physics and chemistry were regarded as perfect candidates for admission in engineering. Now, along with chemistry 3 new subjects are included in which biology is one of them.
DTE has given relief to many students with this new rule, but for colleges this rule can be little bit tough. DTE to give relief to such colleges reduced the percentage to 45 to 40 per cent from 50 to 45 in 2010. This step was taken to ensure to fill the seats in the respective colleges.
