KRUPMAN (KM) Bridge, which was a major project of Ordnance Factory Ambajhari (OFAJ). is back in demand and its manufacture has also began here
OFAJ manufactured hundreds of KM 100m floating bridge more than a decade ago. Now, OFAJ got a order of 51 KM 3.2 Dry Bridges from Indian Army, informed.
"The new KM Bridge has a carrying capacity of 20 ion which can be installed w twin one hour at any dry place. The previous KM Bridge had a earning capacity of 60 ton which was mainly installed on rivers."
He also informed that new KM Bridge is made up of aluminum alloy and it is just a weight of 3 ton and this is the reason for Army placing its bets on the bridge. The production cost of a single bridge is Rs 2.63 crore. The bridges pans arc being manufactured in factory for more than one year. Similarly. Senior General Manager said "OFAJ is also manufacturing Manually launched assault Bridge (MLAB) which has a carrying capacity of 60 ton. Now. we are working on both bridges which are really important projects for the factor like Pinaka project." informed that OFAJ has got a project of AK 100 Naval Ammunitions from Indian Navy this year. The research and development work of AK 100 Ls complete and factory has already commenced the production of the ammo. "The requirement of this ammo is not very high from Navy but we hope tile order would increased in the years to come. Most of the parts of AK 100 Ammo are manufacturing at OFAJ except filling which is done at Chandrapur Ordnance Factory".
