Review petition filed against NET exam 2012 decision
THE NET June 2012 Fighter Forum of Nagpur has filed review application in Supreme Court, against its decision on the issue of NET Examination June 2012. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday. Baliram Bhange said. the candidates appeared for Net Examination in June 2012 were aggrieved by the changes of criteria of minimum qualifying marks by UGC. The criteriaof minimum marks has been announced by UGC after the results declared on September 18. 2012.
In all approximately 1.5 lakh candidates were badly affected due to changes in criteria. Against the injustice, the candidates across the country had filed writ petitions in about lldiffercm high courts in country. In all 67 candidates from Nagpur and periphery had also challenged the decision of UGC in Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court by filing writ petitions. In the writ petitions the criteria has challenged subsequent notification issued by UGC on September 19. 2012. The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court in its judgment dates April 29. 2013 uphold the conditions raised by the candidates and cost the notifications dated September 29. 2012 and directed UGC to declare the results as per minimum qualifying criteria mentioned in the original notification published by UGC in February 2012. he added.
Bhange further mentioned that UGC had challenged the judgment of Nagpur Bench in case of three candidates in Supreme Court. SC in its judgment dated September 19.
2013. allowed the aforesaid appeal and set aside the judgment of Nagpur bench of Bombay high Court. Aggrieved by the SC judgment, some candidates have filed a review petition before Supreme Court, he added. Vasant Wanjari. Anupam Pandey. Pavan Chavhan. Sanjay Sontakke and Raju Dayal were also present at the press conference.
