RTMNU Banned Colleges Issue 2014 Details | Nagpur University 2014 Banned Collages
RASHTRASANT Tukaiioji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) on Friday accepted thai out of 250 banned colleges, in 160 colleges, there are no regular teachers. Most of these colleges were in existence since last four years. According to a report submitted to Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court, the RTMNU gave details of steps taken to resolve the crisis and decisions taken by Academic Council.
However, a division bench consisting of Justice Bhushan Dharmadhikari and Justice S B Shukre asked RTMNU too submit a more detailed, comprehensive report on March 6, The report apparently failed to clear judicial scrutiny.
There was utter confusion within RTMNU bodies about course of action to be adopted to break the impasse since the High Court had adopted a very tough posture. Many aggrieved colleges with some deficiencies also knocked the doors of the High Court against blanket ban arid apprehended that inaction by RTMNU would jeopardise career of hundreds of students. Many of the colleges functioned without any approved teacher, some with one or two and most resorted to appoint ad-hoc teachers citing deficiency of qualified candidates. A recent affidavit filed the higher and technical education department had claimed that enough number of NET/SET candidates and PhD holders are available for teaching jobs across Maharashtra. The High Court also sought to know from RTMNU about action taken erring colleges, their managements and how the internal marks were given when not a single approved teacher worked in these colleges for past four years. RTMNU should issue a clear, self-explanatory notification so as to remove all ambiguity, the petitioners stated. Adv. Anand Parchure.Adv Bhanudas Kulkarni. Adv Shrirang Bhandarkar and others appeared for the petitioner colleges.
