TO PROVIDE adequate training to all the officers recruited in various departments of the Railways. Railway administration has decided to open a Multi Disciplinary Training Centre in the Slate capital. This centre will aid 25 thousand officials and employees of Indian Railways. The announcement came in the meeting held between General Manager of West Central Railway and representatives of railway union.
According to officials, they have already started surveying of land for the centre near Nishatpura coach factory. Construction will start immediately after the land is earmarked. In the meeting held between General Manager and union representatives, this proposal was put forth that it has been over a decade when West Central Railway was recognised as a zone. Still, there is no training centre. Officials have to travel down to Bhusawal Zone for training along with employeesof three more zones. Each year, officers and employees of Railways are given a Refresher course where they are informed about all the new technologies that arc being applied in working of the giant metal machine. Loco pilots, guards and station masters are trained at Bhusawal while administrative training is given at Jodhpur training centre. The training school of Bhusawal is managed by Central Railway while that of Jodbpur is taken care of by Western Railway. Therefore, to stop wastage of time in travelling to these places for training, the division has decided to set up a school in Bhopal.
