Finally, RTMNU Senate approves budget

FINALLY. Senate of Rashtrasam Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has approved the budget of Rs 306.18 crore. With this development, every-body heaved a sigh of relief as it was stalled in the meeting of March 27. Everybody was anxious whether budget would be passed or not. It was first meeting of Divisional Commissioner Anoop Kumar as Vice-Chancellor after taking over charge from Dr Vilas Sapkal on Monday. Dr Sapkal had tendered his resignation 10 Chancellor on Sunday. There were some arguments made by a few Senate members regarding die legality of passing of budget after March 31. but Anoop Kumar calmed them down, with his prudence. Meeting began with Dr Baban Taywade congratulating Anoop Kumar and declaring that the letter that was presented in the meeting on March 27 was being withdrawn. The letter expressed distrust in Dr Vilas Sapkal, following which the budget could not be approved. This episode led to adjournment of the meeting.
