VNIT, Nagpur gets Centre of Excellence status, World Bank also grants Rs 5 crore aid
NAGPUR'S Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) has been granted World Bank assisted project of technical education with the status of Centre of Excellence (CoE). The gram of Rs 5 crore was also declared to VNIT.
National Project Implementation Unit (NPIU-A). Unit of Ministry of Human Resource Development for Implementation of World Bank assisted projects in technical education had invited proposals for participation in "Establishing Centres of Excellence" from institutions selected under the project - Technical Education Quality Improvement
Programme. Phase-II (TEQIP- II). Department of Electronics Engineering and Department of Computer Science Engineering of VN1T has participated.
Around 30 Centres of Excellence (CoE) were proposed to he established.
VNIT is among six National Institutes of Technology (NIT) centres which got the status of CoE. VNIT-CoE is the only one working on the theme of Applied Research in Combedded System.
