Though a few days are left for announcement of SSC results, many students have started making inquiring about courses of polytechnics. There is curiosity among students about nature and schedule of admission process. The wait of students will be over soon and timetable would be announced soon, indicated officials of directorate of technical education.
The number of students of taking admission in diploma course of polytechnic instead of going for Standard XI is very large. The students are visiting office of DTE inquiring about admission process even as SSC results are not declared. The officials informed that admission procedure would include both private as well as government institute.
There would be three main rounds and one round of counselling will be held during this year's admission process. The admissions in 27 courses will be held on the basis of state level merit list. The admission procedure would be conducted for 69 various courses. It is seen that courses like civil, mechanical,electronics, packaging technology, textile manufacturing, travel and tourism are getting good response by students.
Meanwhile, application form receipt centres would be opened in 24 colleges in Nagpur division. This include government polytechnic in city.

दहावीचे निकाल जाहीर होण्यास अद्याप काही दिवसांचा अवधी असला तरी अनेक विद्यार्थ्यांकडून 'पॉलिटेक्निक' अभ्यासक्रमांबद्दल विचारणा सुरू झाली आहे. प्रवेशप्रक्रिया नेमकी कशी राहणार व कधीपासून सुरू होणार याबद्दल विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये उत्सुकता आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांची ही प्रतीक्षा लवकरच संपेल व लवकरच वेळापत्रक जाहीर करण्यात येईल, असे संकेत तंत्रशिक्षण संचालनालयाच्या अधिकार्‍यांनी दिले आहेत.

दहावीनंतर अकरावीत प्रवेश न घेता पॉलिटेक्निकच्या डिप्लोमा अभ्यासक्रमात प्रवेश घेऊन आपल्या करिअरचा मार्ग शोधणार्‍या विद्यार्थ्यांची संख्या फार मोठी आहे. निकाल लागण्याअगोदरपासूनच विद्यार्थ्यांची विचारपूस करायला मोठय़ा प्रमाणात गर्दी होत आहे. या प्रवेशप्रक्रियेत शासकीय, खासगी संस्थांचा समावेश असेल अशी माहिती अधिकार्‍यांनी दिली. यंदा होणार्‍या प्रवेशप्रक्रियेत अभियांत्रिकीप्रमाणेच तीन प्रमुख व एक कौन्सिलिंगचा राऊंड घेतला जाईल तर २७ अभ्यासक्रमांचे प्रवेश राज्य पातळीवरील गुणवत्तेनुसार असतील. ही प्रवेशप्रक्रिया एकूण ६९ निरनिराळ्या अभ्यासक्रमांसाठी राबविण्यात येईल. यात सिव्हील, मेकॅनिकल, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स यांच्याप्रमाणे पॅकेजिंग टेक्नॉलॉजी, टेक्सटाईल मॅन्युफॅक्चर, ट्रॅव्हल अँन्ड टुरिझम या अभ्यासक्रमांना देखील चांगलाच प्रतिसाद असतो, असे दिसून आले आहे.
