Sarv shiksha abhiyaan Free uniforms ZP Schools | SSA Free School Uniform 2014

Every year, students of government schools are given free uniforms under the Sarv shiksha abhiyaan. The schools will reopen in June this year and the 83,226 beneficiary students will receive their uniforms on the first day itself. 

There are 1582 government schools in the district which majorly comprise ZP and NMC schools. The uniforms and stationery will be given to the students on the first day of school. Chief executice officer of Zilla Parishad Shivaji Jondhale approved a ` 3,33,00,000 proposal for the same.

Over 50,808 girls, 9,045 students from scheduled tribes, 8,419 from scheduled castes and 14,748 from BPL families will benefit from it. The government releases ` 400 per student for uniforms and the money is distributed to schools.

Need to increase fund

The government approves ` 400 per student for uniforms which is too less for the current rates of cloth and stiching. The parents therefore, have demanded an increase in fund approved per student. Number of schools and students
