MSEDCL 2014 New Power Plan
CITIZENS in Stale feeling the heat of load-shedding can look forward to cooler times from Wednesday as Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) said the power scenario is going to improve. Due to increase in power availability the load-shedding could he curtailed from tomorrow. A 300 MW unit of JSW has started producing power and a 660 MW unit of Adani loo is expected to come 00-linC by Tuesday night. Further to tide over shortage. MSEDCL has booked 1200 MW from Central exchange for another day. Right now the power shortage is in range of 3000 to 4000 MW and with the above arrangement the State power utility would have 2100 MW to do finer adjustments. This would help tern porarily in cutting hack long hours of power cuts that is fanning anger among citizens across many cities, excluding Mumbai. Nearly three units of private producers developed sang leading to sudden shortage in the Stale grid. Also due to overdrawing from central grid the frequency was hovering dangerous to breakdown point of 49.5 Hz on Monday. This was due to sang in captive thermal units of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, which together with Maharashtra form part of Western Region.
